An event was the first of a series of  events set up by the Jala Poshan team at Jakkur lake .  " Jala Tarang" is a series of events at the Jakkur Lake.  The main aim of the event was to raise awareness of the lake and  celebrate the pride of Lake/Wetland as a National Resource  . At the lake many events were held such as kite making , rangoli  and a drawing competition . There were people teaching the villagers and residents of the apartments surrounding the lake about wet waste composting. A little about Umred Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary

Umred Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary This is one of the few parks where for the first few days I saw more tigers than any other animals. The park has four gates : Gothangaon, Kharandla, Pauni and Pullar. I have been to only two of them namely  Gothangaon and  Kharandla . In total we saw five tigers.  We saw two tigers and a leopard at Gothangaon and three tigers at Kharandla . Most of the tigers in the park are of some relation to the parks dominant male tiger Jay. Jay is not orignally from the park but rather he has migrated from the tourism zone of  Nawegaon-Nagzira Tiger Reserve. This was quite feat as he had to cross roads, highways and even railway lines to reach the park. Jay is not shy of people and doesn't  even move for cars. .He is a very large tiger and some claim him to be the biggest in India. I how ever do not know if this is true.

Some of the pictures from my visit are  below.  I will add more pictures shortly as I am  currently studying for my Board Exams.   Tiger on a tree 15 month old cub 15 month old cub Sitara Bittu (15 month old cub) Update One

Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (Part two)

Image
So after my cancelled trip in March I finally managed to go to Tadoba but rather than going with my parents I went with Toehold Travel & Tours . The full tour was incredibly planned and the skipper Rahul Sachdev was an excellent mentor. We were not as lucky as I had hoped we would be ,but  the time was a sort of dry spell as not too many people had seen a tiger. We did 8 safaris in total ; we saw a sloth bear in the 2 , tiger in the 6th and wild dogs in the 8th. We saw a wide array of birds many of whom I had never seen before. During the safari 3  Northern Golden Orb Weaver spiders fell on me. The tiger reserve is very beautiful and I would love to go their again. Colossus 2015

Image
On the 10th of september 2015 I had visited Brindavan College of engineering for a day long festival which had many events such as photography, counter strike , treasure hunt ,debugging etc. I took  part in the photography event and I stood 2nd . The theme was playing with light. I  did not know that we could use a laptop so I ended up submitting unprocessed images. These are the processed images of the ones that  I gave the organisers. Light
