Ranthambore Day 2

Image
T60's cubs on the second day were found lazing on the road acting as a roadblock. They spend about 10 minutes on the road before getting up and moving away. The cubs are approximately 20 months old and are now seen often without their mother .  All the pictures below are of T60's cubs.

Ranthambore 2017 - Day 1

Image
We started the full day trip to Ranthambore with a bang, within the first hour we were greeted by Noor (T39).We had the pleasure of photographing her for a long time as the tigress is rather bold.  After Noor receded into a water hole far away we came across the pug marks of a  tiger cub. We followed the pug marks to find  T60 and three cubs sitting in shade a few feet away from the road. Very soon they crossed the road and went into shrubs to further cool down. The images below are of Noor, T60 and T60's cubs. Ranthambore 2017

My Ranthambore trip with toehold has been a smashing success with over 16 different tigers seen and over 50 different sighting over the course of 3 full days. During the trip, cards filled and batteries died yet I have over 160 GB of images from the three days alone. I am still going through the images so pictures will be posted over the next few weeks.

Bird hide 2017

It was a windy Sunday afternoon when we went to the hide on the outskirts of Bangalore. We did not see too many birds and the ones that were there were very jumpy. Below are the pictures of the birds we did see. Plans for 2017

Hey, guys its been a while since I have posted anything on the blog, this is due to me having back-to-back exams with hardly any break in between and my college applications. Now that my exams are done I will be getting back into photography.  I have my first trip planned for the 26th of March to a hide located on the outskirts of Bangalore. After that, I have 3 full days safaris planned at Ranthambore from the 20th to the 22nd of April. Then in may I again have exams for a week. In June I am planning a trip to Bandhavgarh National Park, the trip is still in the planning stages so the dates are not yet confirmed.

Bird Hide - Bangalore

Image
The weekend before school started my father and I visited a bird hide close to Bangalore which has a wide variety of birds and reptiles. The hide is close to my house and hardly took an hour and a half to reach. The hide is on barren land, a part of which was converted by the owner into the hide. This sort of photography was a new and interesting experience for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We saw over fifteen species of birds in the two and a half hours we spent over there. The area around the hide has a rain fed river because of which  birds like the Jerdon's Leafbird and the Coppersmith Barbet visit the hide. The hide allowed me to practice my photography skills in a controlled environment. Yellow-Billed Babbler  White-browed bulbul Indian   Chameleon Spotted Dove Coppersmith Barbet Jerdon's Leafbird
