Umred Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary

Image
During my winter break I along with my father and his two friends went to  T adoba Andhari Tiger Reserve  and  Umred Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary for five days.  I saw ten tigers in total (the most  in any trip of mine). Some of the pictures from my visit are  below.  I will add more pictures shortly as I am  currently studying for my Board Exams.   Tiger on a tree 15 month old cub 15 month old cub Sitara Bittu (15 month old cub) Update One

Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (Part two)

So after my cancelled trip in March I finally managed to go to Tadoba but rather than going with my parents I went with Toehold Travel & Tours . The full tour was incredibly planned and the skipper Rahul Sachdev was an excellent mentor. We were not as lucky as I had hoped we would be ,but  the time was a sort of dry spell as not too many people had seen a tiger. We did 8 safaris in total ; we saw a sloth bear in the 2 , tiger in the 6th and wild dogs in the 8th. We saw a wide array of birds many of whom I had never seen before. During the safari 3  Northern Golden Orb Weaver spiders fell on me. The tiger reserve is very beautiful and I would love to go their again. On the 10th of september 2015 I had visited Brindavan College of engineering for a day long festival which had many events such as photography, counter strike , treasure hunt ,debugging etc. I took  part in the photography event and I stood 2nd . The theme was playing with light. I  did not know that we could use a laptop so I ended up submitting unprocessed images. These are the processed images of the ones that  I gave the organisers. Vanamohotsava

Image
The month of august was an interesting one. Jala Poshan, the citizen group I am a part of, was hosting a ten day long  Vanamohotsava - a tree planting drive ; around  Jakkur lake. The whole point of the Vanamohotsava was to increase the popularity of the lake and help fund Jala Poshan in its ventures to help improve the lake.  To raise fund tickets were sold with which people could plant a  tree around the lake . There were many varieties of trees planted like Gulmohar , Jackfruit ,Jamun  and Mexican silk cotton to name a few. Most of these trees are fruiting ones to help attract more butterflies and birds to the lake.  To attract people there were many activities held at the lake such as bird walks, nature walks, nature painting etc . The walks were conducted by  Dr. Subbu Subramanya and Dr. Chandrashekar    from GKVK . Special days were held for firms such as Hebron Properties  and  Menzies Aviation Bobba cargo  .They  helped sponsor the event and paid for essential equipment
